The band formed in 1973, originally under the moniker the Golden Gate Rhythm Section. The group was built around guitarist Neal Schon and keyboard player Gregg Rolie, who had played together in Santana's backing band, and bassist Ross Vallory, who is still with the group.
Journey, which also featured short-lived guitarist George Tickner and drummer Aynsley Dunbar, readied their first LP in 1975. The self-titled effort is a jazzy, progressive album that showed off the prodigious talent of the group. With Rolie handling lead vocals, the album flopped, as did their next two albums.
With Columbia getting increasingly nervous about their modest sales, the group made a left turn on their 1978 LP, Infinity. Knowing they needed a stronger vocalist, Rolie reluctantly relinquished his post to Robert Fleischman, who, after less than a year, lost his job to a precocious powerhouse from central California named Steve Perry.
Perry made his debut on Infinity, which shot to No. 21 on the Billboard Charts. The album features classics like "Lights" and "Wheel In The Sky," which was co-written by Fleischman.
From there, the hits kept coming. Tracks like "Don't Stop Believin'," "Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)," and "Any Way You Want It" kept Journey perched on top of the charts through the late '70s and mid-'80s. Rolie stuck it out until 1981, when he was replaced by Jonathan Cain, who wrote, among other things, the legendary melody for 1981's "Open Arms," which his previous band the Babys dismissed. "Open Arms" went on to be one of the most popular power ballads of all time, hitting No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100.
The group's run finally ended after 1986's Raised on Radio, and the group split in 1987. They reformed in 1995 to release 1996's Trial By Fire, which was a successful comeback. However, the honeymoon was short-lived when, in 1997, Perry injured his hip in a bizarre hiking accident. The group replaced him with Steve Augeri, who was later replaced by Arnel Pineda. Journey continues to tour and record new music today. ~ source wolfgangs concert vault journey entry

FLASHBACK: la. supreme court chief justice catherine d. "kitty" kimball 2009 address to the joint session of the legislature
on 28 april 2009 the louisiana legislature held a joint session to hear a report from the chief justice of the louisiana supreme court, catherine d. "kitty" kimball, called "the state of the judiciary in louisiana."
chief justice kimball opens by stating "i must tell you there are so many good things happening in our judiciary right now that i literally could speak to you for several hours and not cover all of them."
chief justice kimball then goes on to explain that right after she became chief justice she put out something called a vision statement for the court.
it's a simple statement by which they intend to measure the judicial system and the standard by which they intend to effectuate the change necessary to bring this vision to reality.
she said this "vision" is: hardworking judges that treat all within their purview with kindness, fairness and respect and who require that same treatment by his or her employees and the attorneys who appear before them in court.
a judiciary that is recognized by our state and our nation as having those qualities.
they envision a judiciary that handles its work efficiently and appreciates and cares as deeply about the disposition of a child abuse case, a juvenile case or a custody case as it does about a high profile civil lawsuit.
this vision she said is shared not only by these justices on the supreme court but by the many hardworking judges at all levels of our state judiciary.
they have begun throughout the state judiciary to implement measures to make this vision a reality.
they want to improve case management at all levels of the judiciary. they want to know why some courts and some judges dockets are handled quickly and efficiently and some are not. so they are going to examine those issues and afford assistance to any court that needs help with managing their dockets.
they believe very strongly that the court system should be run for the convenience of the users.
other steps the supremes have taken in judicial reform: in 2008 they implemented stringent rules for financial disclosure by state judges. they also revised and strengthened canon xi of the code of judicial conduct. rule xi covers gifts.
they are also concentrating on improving the competency of the judges by improving the judicial education that they offer.
chief justice kimball said thatthis committee consists of representatives from the governor's office including his executive counsel and senior policy adviser.
"we are concerned about the public perception of our branch of government. we have read, as have you, disparaging articles about our legal system from some national organizations.
we want to know the basis of these criticisms. if they are valid we want to address them. if they are not, we want to quell them.
to that end the court has appointed a committee to analyze these articles and to address them."
members of the legislature, including senators marionneaux and amedee and representatives harrison and abramson.
representatives from the conference of court of appeal judges, louisiana district judges association, representatives from labi, and labor, the defense bar, the association of justice and the state bar association.
this committee is enthusiastic in improving the image of louisiana's legal system. chief justice kimball said.
there is an increase in pro se litigants nationally and in louisiana using the court system. these are litigants who seek to file suit or pursue relief from a court without the assistance of an attorney.
chief justice kimball said that "obviously as the cost of litigation continues to be high and as the economy weakens more and more of our citizens who must utilize the court are trying to handle legal matters on their own.
the supreme court in concert with the louisiana state bar association has formed a committee to explore methods of assisting those pro se litigants in navigating the legal system.
in states such as ours where poverty might play a widespread yet unfortunate role in the lives of our citizens it is imperative that we move in this direction.
we must and we will, do more to make our courts available and accessible to all of louisiana citizens no matter what their means."
chief justice kimball goes on to discuss other things like the states lousy criminal justice and juvenile systems. she said that the juvenile justice system is something that is very dear to her heart.
she sure utters a lot of sweet sounding verbiage but is chief justice kimball naive or is she just a liar?
it was not even a handful of months after she stood there and said all about the judiciary and the legal system to the joint session, that we saw unethical, alexandria, la. shyster gregory r. aymond, launch along with his associates: alexandria, la. attorneys susan ford fiser and katherine geary as well as aymond's close deep personal friend and alleged "former" law partner, pineville, la. city court judge, phillip terrell, aymond's frivolous, nuisance louisiana style good ol boy network shakedown scam lawsuit utilizing the pineville, la. city court and the internet to terrify.
no one from the supreme court or from one of these committees has ever contacted us to possibly attempt "to quell" anything we've ever posted about louisiana's lousy judicial system and attorneys. including the corruption we've uncovered so far in the pineville, la. city court. of coz we're not a "national organization."
so we seriously doubt that these committees even exist or that anyone is attempting to watch over and protect the so called integrity of the louisiana judicial system -- much less improve its image.

immediately following louisiana supreme court chief justice, catherine d. kimball's 28 april 2009, address to the states finest collection of freaks, perverts and criminals masquerading as the joint session of the louisiana legislature, about -- of all things "the state of the judiciary," retiring associate justice, chet traylor was personally recognized by them for honor.
we watched the whole thing live ... if only we knew then what's been reported lately. we would have loved to have been a fly-on-the-wall. our eyes would have been fixed on state representative noble ellington and his posse. what was he thinking? what was he saying during all this?
part of their suspension of the rules was to waive calling the roll, so we dont know for sure that he was even present.
chet traylor went ahead and retired from the supreme court and resurfaced earlier this month when he "unexpectedly" qualified to run against the incumbent david vitter for the republican party senatorial nomination in next month's primary.
mr. traylor is said to be the same politically with senator vitter which means that he is a totally safe candidate. we can expect traylor, if elected, to carry on supporting unconstitutional, laws as well as the illegal and immoral wars america finds itself in today -- just like treasonous, traitorous rat and subversive rhodes scholar david vitter. we can also expect mr. traylor if elected to support sending american kids to die for israel in iran.
mr. traylor's supposed calling card was that he was the hi-moral choice. except that not long after he qualified the gannett/monroe news star printed a report u.s. senate candidate chet traylor says he's done nothing unethical in his personal conduct.
you'll just have to read the story or google it.

Obamacare Flow Chart
we cant help but wonder how many coffee's it took for whoever to figure this mess out.
link to audio download page
our new bff, ericka anderson, with the house republican's something-or-other, wrote to alert us that congressman kevin brady would be hosting a live blogger / reporter conference call this afternoon to explain the above obama care flow chart..
it was released to the public this morning around 9:30 am cdt.
it seems that congressman brady has some notoriety in the obama care health care bill flow chart biz.
anyway, the conference call was scheduled for 12:15 pm cdt today which left us very little time to prepare.(like that would have made a difference).
we really didnt know what to expect as we had never done anything like this before and it turned out to be for what it was worth a pleasant experience.
congressman brady explained that the obama care flow chart is an official government document. you can quote from it with authority. post it to your blog or website and even print it out and pass it around as well as take with to confront your congressman over the information it contains.
congressman brady says the obama care flow chart was meticulously compiled over the past four months by the minority staff analyzing and charting all 2,801 pages of the two bills that became law.
that analysis as seen from this chart illustrates the government takeover of 1/6th of the economy. it captures (1) the mass expansion of government and (2) the bewilderingly overwhelming complexity of health care now.
going over the chart everything in color is newly added by the bill(s) except for the health and human services sec'y. hhs sec'y is in color because that person and their authority has been expanded beyond belief -- everything goes through the hhs sec'y -- they are the hub of health care reform -- the new health care czar.
there is 2,200 references in the bill(s) to this person and they will have 600 new authorities in law under this health care bill.
everything in dark blue which you will see above and to the left of the sec'y of health and human services is an expansion of existing government.
everything in orange are the agencies with the power to ration health care in the future. that's the patients centered outcomes institute and the independent payments advisory board.
in the bottom left hand corner are the physicians and at the far right are the patients and in between the doctors and patients are 159 new bureaucracies, programs, boards and regulatory systems.
the boxes in green -- are the new taxes, fees, penalties and medicare cuts -- over a trillion dollars of them which fund this mass new program.
the yellow boxes -- are specific mandates such as the 17 new mandates on insurance.
the new law is so complex that they couldnt get it all onto one page. this flow chart only captures about 1/3 of all the new bureaucracies -- so in the chart you will see tricolored boxes and triangles. they have blue, green and rust colored with a number on them -- these are what are called "bundles of bureaucracies" if they were a computer screen and you touched on them they would pop up. for example: there's a bundle that has 59 -- that hide 59 additional grant programs. another that hides 22 additional bureaucracies and so forth.
you've got up in the far right corner not far from the irs, are the 19 special interest provisions, everything from katrina mary landrieu snellings' the louisiana purchase to five sweetheart deals for the labor unions.
the lines are on there because the law is incredibly complex and it outlines new reporting, oversight, money flows, structural connections that have never existed before.
in the digital copy of the chart, embedded in every one of those lines is the statute in the law that references it.
click here to download our copy. one page .pdf [876 kb].
everything that's outlined in this chart has been changed by the bill(s).
total cost: 2.6 trillion dollars over the first full 10 years of implementation.
the only editing that we did on this audio file was to remove the full names of all the callers.
our question for congressman brady was about speaker pelosi, the commerce clause, wickard v filburn and nullification so you wont want to miss that.

each religion has its own beliefs on what needs to be done to pave the way for the day the savior comes -- but are they that different from each other?
in spite of all the evil in the world, if you take even a quick look at the fundamentals of different religions you'll see a recurring theme. the messiah. the one who is anticipated as the savior and liberator can be found in islam, christianity, judaism and zoroastrianism as well as a host of other religions too.
mohammad al-mahdi the twelfth shi'ite imam. also known as "the guided one." born in 869 ad, disappeared in 941.
shi'ite muslims believe his return from “occultation” will rid the world of wrongdoing, injustice and tyranny. they pray and wait for his return and the day he will spread justice and equality across all mankind.
they believe that he will return with jesus christ.
sunni muslims also believe in the mahdi but it is not important to them -- it's not central to their belief.
belief in the mahdi is central to the shi'ites. iran is shi'ite.
belief in the messiah is a fundamental part of judaism. like islam in judaism the messiah has the most important mission to bring the world back to god and make it a place of peace, justice and harmony.
the jews concept of a messiah to establish the kingdom of israel. somebody who is from the line of david. the idea is not very central. they do not know who he is, they do not know when he will come, they dont really know what he is going to do.
the belief is there but it is something on the side.
the ultra orthodox jews believe that nobody should establish the state of israel, that zionism is wrong because it is the messiah who will do it.
the only thing they do to prepare for messiah is when they have the seder meal at passover. they leave the door open because they believe the prophet elijah will come and he will herald the coming of the messiah.
believes that the jewish prophecies refer to the spiritual savior, jesus of nazareth. christians believe that all messianic prophecies concerning jesus' first coming to earth were fulfilled in the mission, death and resurrection of christ. they seek to spread throughout the world their interpretation that the messiah is the only savior and that jesus will return to fulfill his prophecy in human form.
their texts say, according to pedram soroushpour with the tehran zoroastrian council, "that the last soshians, is someone who will fight against a spiritual symbol. this symbol is ashmodi, which means innovations that surround the bright center of a religion and actually darken it for the world. soshians is the one who clears the trueness of religion with his emergence and causes the truth of religions to reappear. we will witness the development and the spread of righteousness in the world.
one thing that's common between all these faiths is the sense of obligation during your daily life or on a broader social level to pave the way for the return of the savior.

dmitry babich, russia profile magazine
"a war in iran is absolutely unacceptable for russia and russia will do everything to prevent that possibility. on the other hand russia is also afraid of iran getting close to acquiring nuclear weapons.
so obviously russia's position oscillates between these two dangers and that explains russia's attitude. yesterday russia criticized tehran for some of its very critical statements about russia and today russia criticized the eu for its punitive sanctions.
what russia wants is iran at peace with europe, with russia and with possibly all the other countries of the world."
mr. babich, doesnt think that russia will comply with the u.s. and the e.u.'s unilateral sanctions says "russia has no obligation before the united states or the european union to follow their policies on iran.
russia has its own position on iran and russia wants to see iran as a peaceful state and as a reliable economic partner because as you know there are all sorts of informal bans on russia's exports to the e.u. countries and to the united states.
so iran is a very important economic partner for russia and in that sense russia will not support sanctions which can cripple iranian economy."
russia did support the sanctions from the u.n. when asked whats the difference? mr. babich commented: "well it's clear that the u.n. sanctions were dictated by the information received from the international atomic energy agency ... as far as the american sanctions often they are guided by political considerations.
it's clear that iran is demonized in the united states; it's presented as an existential threat to israel and it's given many other bad names and obviously it would be very unwise for russia to follow american policy on iran.
but russia on the other hand as a responsible member of the united nations and the international community as a whole, russia can not disregard the opinion of the united nations and in that sense russia just complied with the decision of the majority at the u.n. security council.
russia and china will not allow themselves to be pressured on iran. russia and possibly china will only take measures if they see that iran is indeed close to acquiring a nuclear weapon.
unless that becomes clear russia and china will not do anything against iran and russia and china will do business with iran.
thats just about as much as it is clear from the statements of both president medvedev and prime minister putin and other russian politicians."

back on 04 may 2010 we posted about a wild honey bee hive that we know of and how the bee numbers appeared to be greatly diminished. although we believed at the time, that this was natural as many bees die off during winter.
we hoped that the bee numbers would increase by summer this year as in times past.
apparently, judging from the above clip we shot earlier today, this is a very healthy and fertile bee hive.

george galloway the real deal program
joined in studio by guest seumas milne, associate editor, guardian uk newspaper to discuss his recent column in which he said that the afghan war exposed the weakness of america's global power.
on the phone is colin butfield, head of campaigns at the world wildlife fund to talk about the lasting damage to wildlife from the deepwater horizon oil catastrophe.
mr. butfield points out that "oil is, of course, a naturally occurring substance, it will breakdown over time -- the key question is what happens to it between now and the point that it does breakdown and it will be different in the deep-water environment and to it washing up on shore."
"i think that you have to fall into two categories: one is the immediate on the ground stuff that they can do in terms of both the clearing up and stopping of the oil that's immediately there. as well as paying for regeneration on the ground of areas of wetlands and things like that.
but you're right in saying that some of [the environment] just wont recover, obviously a dolphin cant sue. so one of the things that we're particularly concerned about is the impact on bp and on the other oil companies future operations. obviously this is only one of their deep-sea offshore drilling operations and there's numerous others and numerous plans to have several more including up in the arctic which is a far more difficult environment to contain an oil spill -- far less infrastructure than there is in the gulf of mexico -- a far more difficult sea -- far worse environmental conditions in terms of the impact.
and we'd like to see far greater restrictions placed upon the drilling that companies like bp can do both in terms of the immediate on the ground impact but also in terms of moving away from our oil dependency and using this as a catalyst to start to direct things towards lower carbon, less risky both in terms of environmental and financial impact sources of generating energy." colin butfield, wwf. emphasis added.

“I’m not too concerned about the storm,” said Rick Knuth, a Naples resident sitting at a busy Starbucks with his laptop. “I saw that it wasn’t too bad, grabbed my stuff and headed out to get some coffee.”
Collier County’s Bureau of Emergency Services saw the weakness of the storm and decided against pulling together its emergency operations team, such as Red Cross.
Instead, emergency responders continued to monitor the storm.
“This warranted watching but ... it wasn’t anything significant, particularly it being an exiting event,” said Director Dan Summers. “Having the opportunity to lessen in intensity a little bit over the land mass, in this particular case, really worked out to our advantage.”

while we of course share with mr. ford a passion to drive out the roy regime, he's written a troubling column in the most recent issue of the light; finding fault with unnamed persons he suspects of running for office impulsively -- even pausing to muse:
"that one or more of the black candidates may have received something under the table to enter the race. of course, i have no evidence of this thought, but it is certainly not farfetched as blacks have always been paid to split the black vote."mr. ford calls on some or perhaps all but one of the black candidates to withdraw so that voters may coalesce behind one -- then ends his column in a twist.

The Little River Band was formed in 1975, in Melbourne, Australia. Several of the members had been in a country-rock band called Mississippi, which was very vocally driven. Other members had come from a '60s pop band called Zoot, which also featured another Aussie future rock star, Rick Springfield. Sharrock had been the lead vocalist in another successful Australian band named, Twilights.
The new group settled on the name after some of the members saw a road sign for the Victorian township of Little River. They became an instant hit in their native country, and by 1976 was signed to EMI's Capitol Records. By trimming the eight minute album track, "It's A Long Way There," down to a manageable four-minute single, the band had its first US hit.
Other hits would follow between 1977 and 1981—"Reminiscing" (reaching #3, their biggest hit), "Lady" "Lonesome Loser," "Cool Change," "The Night Owls" and "Take It Easy on Me" all of which were Billboard Top 10 hits. In all, the group had 13 Top 20 hits, and sold over 25 million records.
The band began to have personnel changes soon after the hits started coming. Gradually most of the original members left or were replaced. Sharrock was forced out in the late 1982, when the others chose a harder musical direction.
Guitarist Stephen Housden, who joined in 1981, has remained throughout, and owns the rights to the name Little River Band. He has toured several versions of the group since then, none of which recently contained any original members. When the classic line-up of Sharrock, Gobles, and Birtle tried to reform a few years ago, Housden legally prevented them from using any reference to the Little River Band legacy in the marketing. ~ source little river band entry at wolfgangsvault.

rally for economic survival - lift the moratorium, sammy kershaw opening set 21 july 2010, cajundome, lafayette, louisiana;
this clip was captured live from the rally for economic survival internet stream;
the video and audio tracks arent in sync most of the time and the video is jerky;
a possible reason for this might be because the livestream server was receiving a tremendous amount of traffic;
hopefully, before long the rally organizers will post a good clean copy.
louisiana lieutenant governor scott angelle flashes "satan's handsign" while introducing gov piyush "bobby" jindal
for they that are such serve not our lord jesus christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple. ~ romans 16:18 kjv
maybe someone out in the audience got some hi-res snaps or video of lt. gov. scott angelle repeatedly giving the mano cornuto as he was introducing pi.
when we logged on about 10 - 15 minutes before the rally began there were already 700+ viewers and shortly before our crash the view counter had shot up to over 3,000 so there were a lot of interested people out here
we're not for any moratorium or putting people out of work or anything like that.
for one reason or another, the government hasnt done a very good job with explaining that the deepwater horizon was drilling from a floating platform in water 5,000 feet [1524 meters] deep drilling down between 25,000 - 30,000 feet [7,620 - 9,144 meters] beyond that and on the edge of human technology.

we thought that we had heard of everything until we followed this link to the uk mail online from drudge.
i-Dosing is actually a variation on a very old method of achieving an altered state.
In 1839 German physicist Heinrich Wilhelm Dove found that two tones played at slightly different frequencies in each ear makes the listener think they are hearing a quick beat.
He called the phenomenon ‘binaural beats’, and it has been the subject of research in the two centuries since.
Binaural beat therapy is used in clinical settings to research hearing and sleep cycles, to induce various brain wave states, and treat anxiety.
Dr Helane Wahbeh, a Naturopathic Physician and Clinician Researcher at the Oregon Health and Science University, said: 'Binaural beats happen when opposite ears receive two different sound waves.
‘And normally, the difference in sound between each ear help people get directional information about the source of the sound.
‘But when you listen to these sounds with stereo headphones, the listener senses the difference between the two frequencies as another beat that sounds like it's coming from the inside of the head.’ ~ read more

from la newslink via the dead pelican we learn that "the tea party of louisiana," has endorsed louisiana gop chairman, roger villere for lieutenant governor. what a freaking joke!
villere is the worst excuse for (1) a gop party boss and (2) a republican. he's been working for years to destroy the republican party.
also notice at the bottom in the commentary, whoever posts the la newslinks site wrote, that "last week, the tea party of louisiana endorsed congressman bill cassidy for re-election." this is even more evidence that "the tea party of louisiana is nothing more than rethuglican controlled opposition.
did you know that quack doctor bill cassidy last year voted for the federal hate crimes bill? this bill will eventually make (among other things) preaching from the king james bible a "hate crime." last year cassidy also voted for barky's "give act."
cassidy in 2008 as a state senator played a major role in getting passed SB 312 the louisiana mandatory water fluoridation bill. this was the bill authored by corrupt criminal lake charles democratic state senator willie landry mount and pushed through the state house by monroe criminal rino kay "bucket of bolts" katz.
anyone of these votes by cassidy is all anyone with any level of common sense would need to understand that cassidy is a rino and that cassidy is garbage.
leave the tea party of louisiana now. dont have anything to do with any tea party that is endorsing or promoting any republican politicians and/or that has republican speakers like sarah palin and newt['s a hoot] gingrich.
for all we know this tea party mess was set up by the criminal network to get a list of names of potential "disgruntled americans" (read: domestic terrorists) together.
also notice how you cant find any information from off its website exactly who is behind this mysterious group.
we can see that they already are working with the republicans. if they will work with that bunch of crooks they will work with anyone.
are louisianaians ever going to grow tired of being raped like a retarded girl over and over again?
