the louisiana high school rodeo association reports from their website,
excerpt:
The Carpenter family has been blessed by the generosity of the NHSRA family and the citizens of the three towns which comprise the Tres Rios High School Rodeo Association – Farmington, Bloomfield and Aztec, New Mexico. On Saturday, the Alberta High School Rodeo Association began a drive to assist the Carpenters with medical expenses. Ontario High School Rodeo Association soon followed and by the end of the Short Round on Saturday night, rodeo families, spectators and the three communities had donated $20,000.00 to a non-profit account in Corbin’s name.

The three towns also assured the Carpenters that they would have no expenses while remaining in Farmington. The Best Western offered complimentary rooms for the duration of the family’s stay, along with private families who offered a home and an apartment. NHSFR local sponsor Fuddruckers Restaurant has offered to cover all meals. The NHSRA Crisis Fund is also contributing toward expenses. The Carpenters also are grateful for the many kindnesses exhibited by the families of the Louisiana National Team while they, too, were in Farmington.

Meanwhile, in the town of Jonesville, an account has also been established at Catahoula Bank. The Carpenter’s insurance does not cover rehab and the rehab stay is typically six weeks, but could be longer. The hospital is working with Specialty Programs Insurors, the NHSRA policy, on costs not covered by the family’s policy. Additionally, the family is attempting to coordinate a medical flight to Dallas.

Those who wish to send cards and letters, as well as those who may wish to assist financially, are asked by the Carpenters to please use their home address. Their mail will be forwarded to them on a regular basis, just as soon as they are settled in rehab. The home address is:
