Lt. Gov. Winthrop Rockefeller, who has held the state’s second-highest executive branch office for nearly a decade, died at 10:37 a.m. today, an aide announced.
He died at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences after undergoing two bone marrow transplants in Seattle for a life-threatening blood disorder that was discovered more than a year ago.
When I went to summer camp in Arkansas, we used to visit his getaway on Petit Jean Mountain.
