is matt drudge's breitbart.com news source evil?

we go on matt drudge's website several times thoughout the day. all in all its a great site for catching up on the latest news and he receives on average over 12 million hits a day. so anyway, today we went on drudge and he is running a headline about the world cup
where it says "france: 1 italy: 1" thats a hyperlink to the story from the breitbart.com news website. we've noticed over the past year or so that drudge has come to rely on breitbart for most of his stories. oh sure he still links to associated press stories and the like but if you follow his website you cant help but notice how breitbart gets the majority of drudge's business. heres the who is look up for breitbart.com:
we have written about the website true.com before and their soft core porn imagery see myspace is evil linked below. imagine our surprise when we clicked over from drudge to the breitbart story and lo and behold theres a true.com "advertisement" and we use that term loosely. so now we have to wonder if we are going to have to send the children out of the room just to view a news story linked from drudge or whoever?

we sent in a feedback protesting true.com's presence and if we hear back from them we will post it here.

    1. I know this post is a couple of days old but my blog reading has been hit and miss lately. While you and I may differ on some of our national political viewpoints, I appreciate your standing up again soft porn advertising on mainstream sites. Your "myspace is evil" post was intriguing. Thanks for going out on a limb for our children.

    2. aww thanks for your kind words councilman. its ok that we disagree on some things politically, because we are confident that time will prove us right because history already has. lol.

    3. LOL ... I really enjoy your blog and your take on things. I'm surprised you don't get more comments. I guess it just depends on the topic.

BTW, you sure run a lot of scripts ... sitemeter, blogrolling, fastonlineusers, technorati all pop up in FireFox with the NoScript plugin. At least you don't have google-analytics in there! [G]

    4. hmm we use firefox too but we must have the script plug-in. (we dont get any pop-ups) we've noticed that sometimes the server at all of them is slow and it slows down the page loading.

sitemeter is a pretty good hit counter we have an invisible one too from blog explosion but its really no way to know the actual number of hits we get because they have never balanced lol. once there was a difference of over 100 hits between the two.

technorati - we used to dutifully tag our posts but sometimes technorati would pick up the tags and sometimes they wouldnt so we quit wasting our time coding them in. technorati tags are good if you post about a breaking news story though.

    5. I got the NoScript plug in to help me keep an eye on what's keeping an eye on me. I often don't allow trackers unless it's a site I like and plan to visit often. NoScript just puts a little bar across the bottom of the screen that says "Scripts Partially Allowed" or something like that. There is an option button to allow certain scripts and not others.

I really like Firefox, especially the mutliple tabs and ability to open several bookmarks at once. Very handy. I find myself using off the beaten path software frequently. For example, my email client of choice is Pegasus and has been for years and years. Never been problemed with virii, beacons, trackers, etc because Pegasus handles things completely differently from Outlook/Outlook Express, which most of the virii are written to exploit.

Keep up the good blogging. I enjoy reading things I might not otherwise stumble across. :)
