ReplyDeleteour "robert from alexandria" post from about a year ago -- the caller does talk about the "brotherhood" and about how "slocum" and others conspire with local business owners to put the competition out of business.
Actually, rapides resident, the only reason I began blogging was because of all the ridiculous lies I kept seeing. I can't just stand by and let people run their mouths with no facts to back it up. Anyway, I hope people compare the candidate based on facts, not rumors. One of my biggest pet peeves is someone who is willing to gripe about politicians or candidates, but have no facts to back it up. And in response to last year's incident with the dublet brothers...if you look at the reports, the facts say that Major Slocum, as well as the other deputies involved, participated in the raid completely by the books. They had been getting complaints on the place for months; and what they found in there----I'm glad they did it. It's just too bad that our justice system folds when pressure is put to them, because the "business owners" were found innocent. Could that be because they were threatening to sue half of Alexandria for racial discrimination? Just a thought.
ReplyDeletehey charlie. we never knew what the outcome of the doublet brothers case was or is. the media made a big deal out of it at the time then we never saw anything else about it. we do get googlers looking for dar or lyle doublet from time to time.
ReplyDeleteanyway, charlie your thoughts from rapides...blog is gaining attention. we have noticed an increase in googlers searching for it so keep up the good work! one googler earlier today was from the louisiana sec'y of state office.
Man, I hope I'm not in over my head...I just try to make sure no lie goes unopposed. I just looked a little further into the doublet bros. situation, and I stated that a little incorrectly. They are stil in court over all of the charges, but they were cleared regarding the guns...I'll try to find more out. I DID however, find out that the raid was a joint effort between a judge, the DAs office, metro narcotics, the fire marshall, Sheriff Hilton, Chief Ronnie Sellers, and Major Slocum...whew!
ReplyDeleteCome on now Charlie, Don’t pretend to be a crusader of truth and honesty. I am guessing that if you come across any lies/ rumors that surface against the other candidates that you would likely “stand by” and let them run their mouths. I have seen it too many times in the last 4 or 5 months.
ReplyDeleteRapides resident, if you've seen lies regarding the other candidates, why didn't you debate over them? And, since I have been blogging, I haven't seen anything written regarding the other candidates that have been blatant lies, twists on truth, or attacks against their character. You sound a little resentful to me. I have never pretended to be unbiased in any of my posts.

Now, you know that there have been character attacks, twisted truths, and blatant lies regarding Bill Robinson for one that I'm absolutely sure of.

lie. So you see, you can't believe everything you read...from Charlie.
sometimes: You can "shoot the messenger" all you want, but the bottom line is that Bill has serious discrepencies in his claims of accomplishments listed on his website. Instead of debating me on that based on facts, you try to discredit me. Which I kind of predicted would happen, because that is what Chuck Wagner and Bill Robinson are attempting to do with Mike Slocum. Get over it; unless you would like to do some real debating.
