I'm the widow of Richard Goss.
I called the ambulance. There was no disturbance. My husband was very meek and mild tempered towards me. Never has he ever raised his hands to me.
He LOVED me with all his heart. It took 11/2 minutes from when the off-duty police officer came along with paramedics and shot and killed my husband in cold blood.
There are so many inconsistencies in their reports. In the report it said there were only 3 shell casings found, and that there were only two bullets in my husbands body. Thats a LIE.
I stood two feet away from the officer. My husband was 5-6 feet away, sitting on his knees in the bed, with NO WEAPONS.
He shot him 3 times. Paused. Then shot him 2 more times. That was with a 40 caliber gun with hollow points.
There were no bullet holes in the wall. If the Alexandria police Dept says I'm lying, then lets exhume my husbands body, and let another Coroner examine him.
I guarantee you that theres 5 bullets there. No one could be that bad of a shot from 5 ft away.
I have forgiven this officer for what he did to my husband. I had to if I want my God to forgive me when I sin. Now, I'm having to put everyone on front street because of them besmirching my husbands integrity and good name.
Everyone in this cover-up will give and account for the lies that are being told. Not by man, but by God.
Everyday a part of me dies because I am without the man I thought I'd grow old with. The Love of my life. My own special gift from God.
So know this gentlemen--You have blood on your hands now for two innocents. I sincerely hope this Officers job and reputation is worth it.
I'm THROUGH. I'm leaving this matter in Gods hands. I do hope and pray that the truth prevails and that the two that are now investigating will do the RIGHT thing.
I'd like @ this time to say how very grateful I am to Mike Magnoli @ News Channel 5. He stood fast through all the lies and controversy. He fought for the TRUTH when I was unable to.
One last thing. MY husbands drug of choice was ALCOHOL. He was not a "Crack Addict" as the Officers friends would lead you to believe.

for some mysterious reason, kalb has been pretty diligent in reporting and following up on the 26 november 2008 shooting of richard joseph goss in the greenbrier motel by alexandria policeman clifton fairbanks. maybe one of the managers at kalb or one of their kids received a ticket from apd that they wont fix - cos normally the media is collaborating with the powers that be a/k/a criminals on the loose, in covering up crimes.
so...for nearly the past two months the city police chief, darren coutee, has been telling kalb that the rapides parish sheriff's office is investigating the shooting - a shooting which resulted in the death of mr. goss, who reportedly was unarmed.
in the meantime, someone who remains unidentified by the media, files a request for information to the sheriff's department about the investigation since it was supposed to have only taken four weeks to complete.
in a 20 january 2009 report, kalb produced rpso's reply to the mysterious information request. it is a strategically redacted letter, which stated "this office did not do an investigation of this incident. therefore, we are unable to furnish you with any of the information requested."
all this led to the alexandria city attorney's 22 january 2009, afternoon press conference -- seen above, in which he side-stepped the questions and accused kalb of attempting to turn the administration against the chief of police.
later that evening in a report that aired 22 january 2009, kalb reported that alexandria police detective, cedric green, was conducting the investigation.
some of the unanswered core questions being: when did the city attorney find out [what did he know and when did he know it] that this was not an rpso investigation, contrary to the chief of police claims? why was this charade that the rpso was investigating the incident when the apd was investigating its own allowed to commence for nearly two whole months,? why wasnt the city attorney and the administration properly involved with and following up on the management of the investigation?
mr. johnson says that the city has nothing to hide. however, kalb's reporting shows that for nearly two months the city was indeed hiding something.
mr. johnson has a history at obfuscation and shifting the blame. as seen in the below clip taken from the so called cleco settlement public meeting of 30 december 2008, when an alexandria, la. resident, a mr. lacour arose to ask the council a question -- mr johnson sidestepped the question, shifting the focus away from the question by accusing the citizen of insulting the city councilmen's intelligence.

it looks like several councilmen are attempting to use this mans death to embarrass the mayor. the mayor has an "administrative briefing" every wednesday. it's carried live on public access television, so why hasnt the media questioned him about the shooting already?
what is the name of the mysterious doctor who signed mr. goss' death certificate? according to this report posted to the columbia university website, schizophrenia "can't be diagnosed on the autopsy table."
while this report from 1977, "autopsy findings in mental patients," says that:"The antemortem clinical diagnosis of schizophrenia had been made in 20 patients. Consideration of the autopsy and clinical findings suggested in retrospect that in 1 White patient and 5 Black patients the diagnosis of schizophrenia could be questioned.
In these cases atypical psychiatric symptoms had been present and pathological lesions suggested a cause other than schizophrenia.
Pathological lesions found included post-traumatic cerebral scarring, cerebral tumour in 2 cases, and cirrhosis of the liver. In Black patients difficulty in diagnosis is caused by the fact that toxic psychosis may mimic schizophrenia, while true schizophrenia may be complicated by the presence of toxic psychosis. With light microscopy, no specific cellular changes were found in the brains of schizophrenic patients."
on wednesday, 26 november 2008, thanksgiving eve, a room renter at the greenbrier motel, 5711 masonic drive, alexandria, louisiana, was shot in room 16 by alexandria police corporal clifton fairbanks.
original kalb reports 26 november 2008 [screen grab | vid clip] | 27 november 2008 [screen grab] said that police were called because of "unruly behavior." however, diana raphael reported, that the victims wife said that she had called an ambulance and that there were no drugs in the room and that her husband was not armed, when corporal fairbanks, in plain clothes, arrived.
the victim, later identified as 36-year-old, richard j. goss, of 2045 bert kouns in shreveport, la., died that day from "multiple gun shot wounds" at st. francis cabrini hospital, in alexandria, la.
kalb says that they were told by authorities that it would take four weeks for them to complete the incident investigation. up to the date of their report forty days have elapsed but kalb says that they know that the investigation closed last week.
by way of comparison, the downtown alexandria, la. shooting incident occurred on 04 october 2007 and the rapides parish district attorney issued their review on 30 november 2007 a period of fifty-seven days. it was publicly released by the gannett/town talk after they filed a public records request. kalb doesnt say whether or not they have formally filed a public records request for the 26 november 2008 greenbrier motel shooting incident report.
nevertheless, kalb's report is interesting in how it shows our so called leaders operating together in suppressing information that they dont want the public to have.
alexandria, la. police chief daren coutee comes off like he is scared out of his mind to even speak of the incident. he says a couple of times that kalb should check with the rapides parish district attorney's office for an explanation. but why should we trust anything the rapides d.a. says when that office and the alexandria police department have a history of deceptive collusion?
chief coutee says that kalb should check with the city attorney "chuck" johnson but according to kalb, mr. johnson isnt talking either.
whats happened is that an american citizen was killed by a gun-totin' member of the state and now the chief of police, the city attorney and the district attorney are refusing to give an account of it to the citizenry. is mr. goss' life and rights any less valuable than anyone else?
and even if mr. goss was some drug-crazed, baby killer and we arent saying that he was -- nothing in the federal or state constitution give the police the right to commit extrajudicial executions of those citizens that they deem undesirable.
we disagree with mr. magnoli's "political puppet-strings" metaphor -- it's a political clown-car that they are riding in and the joke is on we the people;
when are the people going to demand honest, respectable leaders?
