sen julie quinn all style no substance

fake republican watch series
here we go again with another bait and switch republican. louisiana state senator julie quinn is alledgedly a republican. republican's are supposed to stand for less government and more personal freedom. why then we have to wonder did senator quinn introduce her four page monstrosity SB 564, which mandates parents "to attend a minimum number of parent-teacher conferences?"
now we arent saying that you shouldnt attend your childs parent-teacher conference(s) because hey we should but it should be our choice.

what gives the state the right to mandate this?

what gives the state the right to turn our kids teacher and principal into some sort of defacto police force keeping tabs on what we do or dont do?

what gives the teacher or principal the right to send out a letter "...outlining the consequences of failure to schedule or attend parent-teacher conferences and a demand for a response?" additionally this legislation makes the principal ".. sole judge of whether the failure to schedule or attend parent-teacher conferences is acceptable under the circumstances."
la. state senator julie quinn (r) metairie

oh and look which senators voted in support of this draconian legislation.

to senator quinn we say: girlfriend, you might have been a trophy "date" in high school but your actions in the real world trifling with personal freedoms and peoples lives is ugly. you need to go on back to the country club or selling real estate or whatever you did before you became a senator because you are unfit for the office you hold.

  1. It takes a special sort of mentality to equate withholding a report card with jackboots stomping on one's face. Our law requires our public school system to educate everybody. That is impossible. This makes that impossiblity a little more obvious and that could be a good thing. Again, let me remind you that the consequence of incurring the penalty in this law is that they withhold the child's report card. That seems draconian to you??? Hang arround an innercity public school for two hours.

  2. hi thanks for your comment for one thing this type of legislation is totally foreign to what the republicans say they stand for. another is that report cards are already the property of the parent(s) in the form of taxes paid this legislation doesnt address that at all. another is that crafty divorce lawyers may use this in child custody proceedings, another is that it is "slippery slope" legislation hence draconian its also unconstitutional not to mention unamerican and if you want the state to control every facet of your life why not move to china? and also we werent aware of any "inner city schools" in existence at hilton head, south carolina.

  3. Please forgive me. I was not aware that the Louisiana legislature had jurisdiction over North Carolina. Your comment about Hilton Head was very profound. Can't put anything over on you.

"Go to China." A rational response if I ever heard one.

  7. I am sorry, but it comes to a point where you have to force parents to take action. You ever hear stories from public school teachers? It is time the school system gains control and getting the parents involved. If there was not a seatbelt law people most people would not have the sense to know that it is there to reduce their chance of getting killed or seriously injured. People need to be told what to do.
