national guard to nola

we are still waiting to see what *nola's blogosphere says to this news but in the meantime we would like to say that this is another good example of why louisiana's national guardsmen should be recalled from the illegal and immoral iraq war. they are needed here at home. all this time they should have been guarding & cleaning up new orleans as well as calcasieu.

    1. "they should have been guarding & cleaning up new orleans"

They are the Guard. They have no business doing civil law enforcement. They are best used for civil unrest and disaster relief. Law enforcement is the business of civil authorities. Ray Nagin needs to hire some more cops.

"the illegal and immoral iraq war"

Congress approved the use of force in Iraq, which certainly makes it legal. Immoral? We are fighting immoral people. Folks who use women and children as shields. I think we should fight folks like that.

    2. hi pawpaw you're welcome to think whatever you want no matter how wrong it is lol you're wrong here in two ways:

its perfectly customary and acceptable to use the national guard in the clean up of new orleans and calsieu. they have the equipment (not to mention the discipline) to carry it off. drive by camp beauregard and you(or used)to be able to see rows and rows of bulldozers and heavy equipment already paid for and sitting there.

you and many others as well are also wrong in your supposition that the iraq war is legal. according to the united states constitution only congress may declare a war. that has not been done here. the resolution for the use of force isnt legal or valid constitutionally no matter how you look at it. its not worth the paper its written on, no matter how many senators and representatives voted for it.

for these reasons and more the iraq war is illegal and perhaps more importantly immoral regardless what well meaning but historically mistaken pundits think or say.
