currently house members have the privlege to vote anothers machine. they may also change their vote after a bill has been voted on as long as that cast...now recast? vote doesnt change the outcome of the bill. confused yet? yeah so are we and thats why they do it. that, and we let them do it. the times picayune editorialized about it they write: "Until legislators are able to amend House rules to forbid members from voting for absent lawmakers, House members should demand a lockout on every single vote. Surely there are 21 House members who take their job seriously enough to do so." we agree this should be stopped at once. what we wanna know is how they will get to 21 with all of em voting each others machine. in other words it doesnt have to be many there to pass the business they want. the absent ones can always use the excuse that his fellow rep voted his machine in case there was a question. but theres never no questions so whats the point right?

anyway like they say shame on em and put a stop to this!
please dont forget HB2 the house ways and means commite has it on its agenda tuesday may 16th, 2006 at 9:30 am. please ask your representative to cut pork from the capital outlay aka house bill 2. ask them to defund completely the washington parish reservoir scheme as well as all the other reservoir schemes where the good citiziens of this state dont want it. stop louisiana government sponsored eminent domain abuse.

Until legislators are able to amend House rules to forbid members from voting for absent lawmakers, House members should demand a lockout on every single vote. Surely there are 21 House members who take their job seriously enough to do so.
