according to the gannett/town talk: a news release from avoyelles parish sheriff, doug anderson said that the destruction was caused by a "'sparkler bomb'...an extremely large amount of common firework stand sparklers were manufactured into a powerful bomb." ~ read more

    UPDATE: Avoyelles Parish sheriff’s deputies arrested three suspects allegedly involved in using homemade bombs to blow up two mailboxes, according to a sheriff’s spokesman.

    Maj. Steve Martel said the three suspects were booked into Avoyelles Parish Detention Center 1 after their arrests about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 1. All three are being held without bond pending a bond hearing, Martel said.

    Jailed were Maryanne Zoorhies, 26, William Jessie Zoorhies, 20, and Adam Paul Marshall, 22, all of 6907 La. Highway 107, Marksville, police reported. ~ read more
