Second Landing Opportunity Waved Off
Thu, 10 Sep 2009 06:28:56 PM CDT
Flight Director Richard Jones has made his decision for today's second landing opportunity: no-go. The weather is too unstable and uncooperative to allow space shuttle Discovery to return to its home port of Kennedy Space Center today.
Discovery and its crew of seven astronauts will remain in orbit another day. Flight controllers will continue to study tomorrow's weather forecast.
Landing times at Kennedy tomorrow currently are listed as 4:48 p.m. and 6:23 p.m. CDT, although those times may be adjusted.
Stay tuned for further updates. ~ landing blog
