dishonest hit piece on helena moreno: fail
sooo both of these candidates likely suck.
they're the only ones on the runoff ballot too.. helena moreno was in a car wreck on 14 october 2002. she t-boned a car that ran through a stop. there was a fatality. whether the investigation then was a cover-up who knows but it doesnt seem likely.
ms. moreno was a repeater for a new orleans television station. she quit that ... and eventually ran against wm. jefferson. now she finished second primary to move into the runoff for dist #93 state representative to replace the big liberal tax and spender karen carter peterson; who was foolishly elevated by special election to the state senate after the resignation of cheryl gray evans.
ms. moreno's opponent in the runoff is james perry. mr. perry recently ran for mayor of orleans and at first his campaign tactics shook up the "elite" so badly that they had to bring in mitch landrieu. mayor landrieu at the time was the lieutenant governor.
in the fall there will be a statewide special election to fill the lt. governor vacancy. we had hoped that they would abolish the office at least until the regular election.
bananas foster a/k/a foster l. campbell, public service commissioner, recently has said there is a 50% chance of his running. we would strongly consider voting for him if there are no third party candidates to choose from.
the flamboyantly liberal rino jay dardenne certainly doesnt deserve it.
regarding rehashing ms. moreno's accident, orleans media makes it pretty clear that mr. perry and his operatives that fell far short with their reach.
so mr. perry, apparently and this part needs to be checked who filed an la. r.s. 44:1 et seq public records request to the new orleans police department traffic fatality unit.
perry operatives emailed it around to various orleans media outlets and this is the part that we dont like -- according to the lens, who apparently, filed their own public records request which runs to seventy-three pages and compared them:mr. perry's so called "summary." they found it left out some 15 pages of the official record.
yesterday, ms. moreno filed a complaint in civil district court claiming that
perry violated the state election code by making false claims about her, causing "irreparable injury." it asks a judge to order perry to discontinue the "damaging conduct" and fine him $500, the maximum allowed, plus legal fees.the tp says that no hearing date has been set down.
.... the other candidate ... the one who finished 3rd in the just completed primary ... is reportedly preparing his own fraud complaint against mr. perry too ...
louis charbonnett, iii, a lifelong democrat, and former state representative, told michelle krupa, a reporter with the times-picayune that mr. perry, on primary eve, passed out a flier which claimed charbonnett was a republican and he was in tight with jorge dubya boosh and piyush scam. LOL
so mr. perry is a freak. can you imagine this clown trying to talk shit on the state house floor? he's a con-artist now and would fit right in.
and all mr. perry has shown so far is that he is clever at lying and pulling scams. how is his gift going to help create a better louisiana?
we're not sure about ms. moreno either. maybe she's honest since she quit the msm.or not. ms. moreno is making a mistake though by canceling candidate forums and debates. she needs to face and show up mr. perry rather than play into his hands and appear weak. people are hesitant to vote for a dishrag.

daily kingfish posts exclusive photos of a 'clandestine' meeting between quack "dr." bill cassidy and no party candidate michael jackson
source: louisiana sec'y of state elections divisionthe democrats have it in for state representative and former democratic party and now no party former la-06 congressional candidate, michael jackson -- because they feel that rep. jackson threw the election to the rethug quack "dr." and fluoride pusher: william "bill" cassidy.
don cazayoux, the defeated democratic party incumbent was just another treasonous, traitorous rat of a congressman and deserved to be soundly voted out. unfortunately, simple minded louisianians allowed themselves -- once again, to be tricked into voting for a nutter, this time in dr. mengele errr cassidy. wst... was pulling for rep. jackson.
the loss of the seat was the democrats own fault though, cos all they had to do was air some commercials about the hazards and health risks associated with fluoride. cassidy, a state senator and alleged medical doctor supported mandatory water fluoridation (which amounts to mass medication without informed consent) but the dum-o-crats couldnt do that though -- because the bill, senate bill no. 312, was authored by dikey looking, lake charles democrat, willie landry mount. so the democrats get what they deserve...
we're sure that mr. cazayoux will be fine. he will most likely go back to pointe coupee parish and get his job back at the district attorney's office there and help cover up crime. that or like his predecessor richard hugh baker, get a lobbyist job in d.c.
anyway, click here or the link to view the photos.

H. RES. 1460 in the matter of representative charles b. rangel
a couple of days ago it was reported that la-06 congressman don cazayoux had voted to give his fellow congressman charles b. rangel an "ethics pass" by his yea vote to table h. res 1460.
according to house roll call vote #609 of thursday, 18 september 2008, congressman cazayoux was joined in voting yea to table the resolution by his fellow louisiana congressmen william jefferson and charlie melancon.
other interesting yea votes to table h. res. 1460 from the republican side of the aisle were those cast by ron paul, wayne gilchrest, walter jones, james ramstad and dana rohrabacher.
h.res. 1460 was filed on thursday. the text was unavailable online that day and friday because, according to the library of congress, (thomas.loc.gov) it hadnt been sent to them from the government printing office. so it was saturday before we could read the actual text. in the meantime, the only information that they had was the name of the sponsor, :that creepy, sack of ohio rethuglican dung, john boehner.
congressman boehner you might recall is a suspected alcoholic (and serial tanning bed abuser) who on more than one occasion has made incoherent speeches from the house floor in which he famously weeps over the iraq war see boehner weeps & boehner weeps again, a war which he enthusiastically supports. so as far as we're concerned, congressman boehner is just as big a criminal as he would have us believe that congressman rangel is.
just yesterday (sunday 21 september 2008) congressman boehner said on abc's "this week" program that 'treasury's bailout package should help only wall street, not main street.'
anyway, back to congressman cazayuox. how could congressman cazayoux in good conscience and coming from the most corrupt state in the nation, vote to table this resolution? furthermore, what is especially egregious about congressman cazayoux's vote to table h. res.1460 is that he claims that he was a prosecutor in pointe coupee parish -- although apparently not a very good one -- despite his campaign websites' insistence that he never lost a jury trial (notice that they dont tell you just how many jury trials that he actually had) -- hence his desperation to become a career politician.
we dont support "dr." bill cassidy for congress either. cassidy's support of lake charles democrat willie landry mount's sb312 the louisiana mandatory drinking water fluoridation bill, is all the evidence you need to understand that cassidy is a quack and is unfit to hold any office of public trust including his present office of louisiana state senator.
"dr." cassidy's dangerous quackiness, incompetence and corruption should be glaringly apparent especially in light of the actions taken by tennessee state representative joey hensley. representative hensley also a medical doctor and also a republican, spoke out against and stopped efforts to fluoridate tennesse's drinking water.
see also 50 reasons to oppose fluoridation by paul connett, phd. professor of chemistry, st. lawrence university, canton, new york. and the sb312 label in the footer of his post.
according to the louisiana secretary of state elections website, there is an independent running for congress from louisiana's sixth district - louisiana state representative michael jackson. this is who residents of the sixth congressional district should vote for.

Mr. BOEHNER submitted the following resolution; which was laid on the table
Whereas the gentleman from New York, Charles B. Rangel, serves as chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, a position of considerable power and influence within the House of Representatives;
Whereas the Committee on Ways and Means has jurisdiction over the United States Tax Code;
Whereas The New York Times reported on September 5, 2008, that, `Representative Charles B. Rangel has earned more than $75,000 in rental income from a villa he has owned in the Dominican Republic since 1988, but never reported it on his Federal or State tax returns, according to a lawyer for the congressman and documents from the resort';
Whereas in an article in the September 5, 2008, edition of The New York Times, his attorney confirmed that Representative Rangel's annual congressional Financial Disclosure statements failed to disclose the rental income from his resort villa;
Whereas The New York Times reported on September 6, 2008, that, `Representative Charles B. Rangel paid no interest for more than a decade on a mortgage extended to him to buy a villa at a beachfront resort in the Dominican Republic, according to Mr. Rangel's lawyer and records from the resort. The loan, which was extended to Mr. Rangel in 1988, was originally to be paid back over seven years at a rate of 10.5 percent. But within two years, interest on the loan was waived for Mr. Rangel.';
Whereas clause 5(a)(2)(A) of Rule 25 of the Rules of the House defines a gift as, `* * * a gratuity, favor, discount, entertainment, hospitality, loan, forbearance, or other item having monetary value' and prohibits the acceptance of such gifts except in limited circumstances;
Whereas Representative Rangel's acceptance of thousands of dollars in interest forgiveness is a violation of the House gift ban;
Whereas Representative Rangel's failure to disclose the aforementioned gifts and income on his Personal Financial Disclosure Statements violates House rules and Federal law;
Whereas Roll Call newspaper reported on September 15, 2008, that, `The inconsistent reports are among myriad errors, discrepancies and unexplained entries on Rangel's personal disclosure forms over the past eight years that make it almost impossible to get a clear picture of the Ways and Means chairman's financial dealings.';
Whereas Representative Rangel's failure to report the aforementioned gifts and income on Federal, State and local tax returns is a violation of the tax laws of those jurisdictions;
Whereas disclosure of these improper acts follows an announcement on July 31, 2008, by the House Committee on Standards of Official Conduct that it is reviewing unrelated allegations that Representative Rangel has violated House gift rules, financial disclosure regulations and rules barring the use of official resources to solicit funds for private ventures;
Whereas an editorial in The New York Times on September 15, 2008, stated, `Mounting embarrassment for taxpayers and Congress makes it imperative that Representative Charles Rangel step aside as chairman of the Ways and Means Committee while his ethical problems are investigated.';
Whereas clause 1 of rule XXXIII of the Rules of the House of Representatives provides, `A Member, Delegate, Resident Commission, officer, or employee of the House shall conduct himself at all times in a manner that shall reflect creditably on the House'; and
Whereas on May 24, 2006, Speaker Nancy Pelosi cited `high ethical standards' in a letter to Representative William Jefferson asking that he resign his seat on the Committee on Ways and Means in light of ongoing investigations into alleged financial impropriety by Representative Jefferson: Now, therefore, be it
- Resolved, That--
- (1) pursuant to its authority under clause 3(a)(2) of House Rule XI, the Committee on Standards of Official Conduct, within 10 days of adoption of this resolution, shall establish an Investigative Subcommittee in the matter of Representative Charles B. Rangel or report to the House the reasons for its failure to do so; and
- (2) upon adoption of this resolution and pending completion of the aforementioned investigation, Representative Rangel is hereby removed as chairman of the Committee on Ways and Means.

Participating payees include persons who accept a payment card as payment and third party networks who accept payment from a third party settlement organization in settlement of transactions. A payment card means any card issued pursuant to an agreement or arrangement which provides for standards and mechanisms for settling the transactions. Use of an account number or other indicia associated with a payment card will be treated in the same manner as a payment card.
A de minimis exception for transactions of $10,000 or less and 200 transactions or less applies to payments by third party settlement organizations. H.R.3320 rodney alexander, charles boustany, wm. jefferson, charlie melancon vote to send $5 million dollars (borrowed from china) to a polish museum
why are republicans voting to send millions of dollars to poland for a museum? notice how every single louisiana republican voted for this bill. do you think that the louisiana media or moon griffon, the clowns on ksyl and the states other rethuglican shills, like, oh, say the nutty professor for one, will confront any of these criminals to hold them accountable and ask them just what the hell they are doing by this?
do you think la gop chairman roger villere will be issuing any press releases chiding the state republicans over their making a mockery of the party's platform? dont hold your breath.
these cretins: richard hugh baker, piyush "bobby" jindal and jim mccrery wont be back in the next congress but they all voted for it too - see house roll call vote 1088 from 14 november 2007.
if you're a republican how can you ever vote for any of these criminals ever again? they are making a fool out of you over and over. do you like being made a fool out of?
what they are doing is criminal - you can call it embezzlement, money laundering, theft by deception or whatever. the united states government is trillions and trillions of dollars in the hole and they are borrowing money from our "enemies" to send it to the other side of the world.

louisiana jack-booted thugs harrass funeral mourners
bunch of pompous perfumed prince's in the louisiana state police themselves too lazy and corrupt to investigate and prosecute all the political and governmental corruption that plagues louisianaians -- thats why when you see a louisiana politician or governmental official "public servant" indicted and/or prosecuted its always brought on by the feds -- can find the time to harangue harmless funeral mourners in a small louisiana town having a population of around 2,300 people - that all know each other.

excerpt from the washington times:
Police in thought pursuit
By Bruce Fein
December 27, 2007
Congress is perched to enact the "Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act of 2007 (Act)," probably the greatest assault on free speech and association in the United States since the 1938 creation of the House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC).
[...]
The Senate companion bill (S. 1959), sponsored by Susan Collins, Maine Republican, has encountered little opposition. Especially in an election year, senators crave every opportunity to appear tough on terrorism. Few if any care about or understand either freedom of expression or the Thought Police dangers of S. 1959. Former President John Quincy Adams presciently lamented: "Democracy has no forefathers, it looks to no posterity, it is swallowed up in the present and thinks of nothing but itself."
Denuded of euphemisms and code words, the Act aims to identify and stigmatize persons and groups who hold thoughts the government decrees correlate with homegrown terrorism, for example, opposition to the Patriot Act or the suspension of the Great Writ of habeas corpus.
The Act will inexorably culminate in a government listing of homegrown terrorists or terrorist organizations without due process; a complementary listing of books, videos, or ideas that ostensibly further "violent radicalization;" and a blacklisting of persons who have intersected with either list.
Political discourse will be chilled and needed challenges to conventional wisdom will flag. There are no better examples of sinister congressional folly.
The Act inflates the danger of homegrown terrorism manifold to justify creating a marquee National Commission on the Prevention of Violent Radicalization and Ideologically Based Violence (Commission) in the legislative branch. Since September 11, 2001, no American has died from homegrown terrorism, while about 120,000 have been murdered.
[...]
Prior to September 11, homegrown terrorism consisted largely of Timothy McVeigh, Eric Rudolph, the Unibomber and the D.C. Metropolitan area snipers. The Act, nevertheless, counterfactually finds "homegrown terrorism ... poses a threat to domestic security" that "cannot be easily prevented through traditional federal intelligence or law enforcement efforts."
Under the Act, William Lloyd Garrison would have been guilty of promoting "violent radicalization" for publishing the anti-slavery Liberator in 1831, which "facilitated" John Brown. Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton would have been condemned for assailing laws disenfranchising women and creating an intellectual atmosphere receptive to violence. And Martin Luther King, Jr. would have fallen under the Act's suspicion for denouncing Jim Crow and practicing civil disobedience, which "facilitated" H. Rap Brown.
[...]
Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes observed in Gitlow v. New York (1925): "Every idea is an incitement. It offers itself for belief and if believed it is acted on unless some other belief outweighs it or some failure of energy stifles the movement at its birth. The only difference between expression of an opinion and an incitement in the narrower sense is the speaker's enthusiasm for the result."
according to house roll call vote #993 of 23 october 2007 for H.R.1955 with the exception of piyush "bobby" jindal who didnt bother to vote, every other congressman from louisiana voted for this bill:
rodney alexander - yea
richard hugh baker - yea
charles boustany - yea
wm. jefferson - yea
jim mccrery - yea
charlie melancon - yea
This bill is completely insane. It literally allows the government to define any and all crimes including thought crime as violent radicalization and homegrown terrorism. Obviously, this legislation is unconstitutional on a number of levels and it is clear that all 404 representatives who voted in favor of this bill are traitors and should be removed from office immediately. The treason spans both political parties and it shows us all that there is no difference between them. The bill will go on to the Senate and will likely be passed and signed into the law by George W. Bush. Considering that draconian legislation like the Patriot Act and the Military Commissions Act have already been passed, there seems little question that this one will get passed as well. This is more proof that our country has been completely sold out by a group of traitors at all levels of government. ~ rogue government link

Nov 7, 6:51 PM (ET)
By ANDREW MIGA
WASHINGTON (AP) - The House on Wednesday approved the first federal ban on job discrimination against gays, lesbians and bisexuals.
Passage of the Employment Non-Discrimination Act came despite protests from some gay rights supporters that the bill does not protect transgender workers. That term covers transsexuals, cross-dressers and others whose outward appearance does not match their gender at birth.
The measure would make it illegal for employers to make decisions about hiring, firing, promoting or paying an employee based on sexual orientation. It would exempt churches and the military.
After the 235-184 vote, supporters are expecting a tough fight in the narrowly divided Senate, where Massachusetts Democrat Edward Kennedy plans to introduce a similar version.
A veto from President Bush is expected if the proposal does pass the Senate. The White House has cited constitutional concerns and said the proposal could trample religious rights.
Backers of the House bill proclaimed it a major civil rights advance for gays. "Bigotry and homophobia are sentiments that should never be allowed to permeate the American workplace," said House Majority Whip James Clyburn, D-S.C.
The decision by Democratic leaders to exclude protections based on gender identity created sharp divisions in the party and among gay rights activists.
Republicans, meanwhile, said the bill could undermine the rights of people who oppose homosexuality for religious reasons and lead to an onslaught of dubious discrimination lawsuits.
"This is, frankly, a trial lawyer's dream," said Rep. John Kline, R-Minn.
Protections for transgender workers were in the original bill. But Democratic leaders found they would lose support from moderate and conservative Democrats by including transgender employees in the final bill.
"That's a bridge too far," said Rep. Rick Boucher, D-Va. "It's better to take it one step at a time."
Rep. Jerrold Nadler, however, said excluding transgender workers was shortsighted.
"As we have seen in many states, the failure to include the transgender community in civil rights legislation from the beginning makes it more difficult to extend protections later," said Nadler, D-N.Y.
Rep. Barney Frank, one of two openly gay members of Congress and an important supporter of the bill, urged colleagues not to let the dispute over transgender workers doom an important gain in civil rights.
Frank, D-Mass., said he hoped the bill would send a message to "millions of Americans who are gay and lesbian that they are not bad people, that it is not legitimate to fire them simply because of who they are."
He also pledged to continue to fight for a bill to protect transgender workers.
Job discrimination based on factors such as race, gender and religion are banned under federal law. Nineteen states and the District of Columbia have laws against sexual-orientation discrimination.
Only nine states specifically protect transgender people from discrimination: New Jersey, Minnesota, Rhode Island, New Mexico, California, Illinois, Maine, Hawaii, Washington. The District of Columbia has a similar law.
By January, laws also will be in effect in Iowa, Vermont, Colorado and Oregon.

Court: FBI Violated Constitution in Raidclick here to read more
Aug 3 11:18 AM US/Eastern
By MATT APUZZO
Associated Press Writer
excerpt:
WASHINGTON (AP) - The FBI violated the Constitution when agents raided U.S. Rep. William Jefferson's office last year and viewed legislative documents, a federal appeals court ruled Friday.
The court ordered the Justice Department to return any privileged documents it seized from the Louisiana Democrat's office on Capitol Hill. The court did not order the return of all the documents seized in the raid.
Jefferson argued that the first-of-its-kind raid trampled congressional independence. The Justice Department said that declaring the search unconstitutional would essentially prohibit the FBI from ever looking at a lawmaker's documents.
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit rejected that claim. The three-judge panel unanimously ruled that the search itself was constitutional but that FBI agents crossed the line when they viewed every record in the office without giving Jefferson the chance to argue that some documents involved legislative business.

Tauzin is unnamed lawmaker in Jefferson indictmentclick link to read more from the hill
By Kevin Bogardus
June 11, 2007
Former Rep. Billy Tauzin (R-La.) is the unnamed lawmaker mentioned in the Department of Justice's indictment of Rep. William Jefferson (D-La.), according to a document obtained by The Hill.
[...]
The so-called mystery lawmaker, according to the charging document’s limited description, was a member of the House of Representatives who was “a prominent member of the Subcommittee on Telecommunications, Trade, and Consumer Protection.” Johnson confirmed Tauzin was an “ex officio” member of that subcommittee since he was also chairman of its full committee at the time.
Tauzin possessed substantial clout on Capitol Hill; his signature praising iGate was significant for the influence it could wield. Before departing Capitol Hill after the 2004 elections, Tauzin spent roughly 25 years in the House -- 15 of those as a Democrat. The former congressman led the powerful Energy and Commerce panel for his last two terms.
“As a favor to our colleague, Billy had someone from our staff look at the technology,” said Johnson. “Billy was very interested in whether this technology could help underserved areas such as southern Louisiana.”
Dated Oct. 22, 2002, Tauzin’s letter was written on his congressional letterhead and addressed personally to the iGate CEO, starting, “Dear Vernon.”
Jackson pleaded guilty to bribery of Jefferson, spending roughly $400,000, and was sentenced to seven years in prison in September 2006.

Boehner to call for ethics review of Jefferson
House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) will ask the ethics committee to review the federal indictment filed Monday against Rep. William Jefferson (D-La.) in order to seek his expulsion from Congress.
Boehner will offer a priviledged resolution on the House floor as early as Tuesday calling for the House Committee on Standards of Official Conduct to review the 94-page investigation filed against Jefferson Monday, according to the Republican leader's office.
The Justice Department indictmented the Louisiana Democrat Monday on federal charges of racketeering, soliciting bribes and money laundering.
Boehner's resolution is intended to "jump start" a previous investigation into Jefferson's alleged misdeeds that expired last year.

the most telling part of the indictment is found near the beginning on page three. they make reference to and even go so far as to print the oath of office. notice that nowhere at this page nor anywhere else in the indictment did they state that the oath of office is federal law. see 5 usc section 3331 the reason they didnt reference the specific statute, mention it or charge congressman jefferson with violating it is because it would make we the people think. it would also make the people wonder why all the rest of the congress, including the president and vice president, etc. isnt charged under 5 usc sec. 3331 when they violate the oath of office by including but not limited to voting for or introducing legislation that is unconstitutional or doing anything that weakens or is against the constitution.paragraph eight is a lie when they say that congressman jefferson "owed"
the citizens of the united states and the united states house of representatives a duty to perform the responsibilities of his office free from deceit, fraud, concealment, bias, conflict of interest, self-enrichment and self-dealing.while its true that american citizens elected congressman jefferson to office, his oath of office is to the constitution and nothing else. so dont be a sucker -- this indictment starts off with deliberate lies, how true can the rest of it be?

fbi 'misused patriot act'
is this really a surprise to anyone? it shouldnt be. not when we just saw last week a member of the bush crime machine convicted for outing a cia agent as payback for her husband refusing to lie to justify the illegal and immoral iraq war. a cia agent. this is someone who gathers intelligence in foreign countries to help protect america. after ms. plame was outed how many of her contacts in those foreign countries were identified and killed? maybe even their familes murdered as well? did the bush crime machine care about those people? do you? all the bush crime machine was interested in was payback and getting even. this is the kind of vermin we have running our government.

karen carter corporate tool
in a recent post he captioned The wonderful results of strategic voting, nola blogging kingfish, oyster @ your right hand thief asked his readers:
And what's worse for business than Corruption and Crime? Tell me, please. What was it about Mitch Landrieu and Karen Carter that was worse for business than the re-election of Ineffective Nagin and Corrupt Jefferson? Again, I need to know.this brought to mind a bill of representative carter's (hb250) we stumbled across the other day when we were looking for the relevant bill for our post here about the so called smokefree air act. we left a comment at oysters post and in it we mentioned hb250 then that got us to thinking about the bill....
as you can see representative carters hb250 deletes the requirement that only united states citizens be an officer or serve on the board of directors of certain insurance companies...while we admit we missed the committee as well as the house and senate floor debate about this bill we cant see any good reason how repealing the citizenship requirement would benefit "we the people" can you? in fact it looks like it makes it easier for a fly-by-night insurer to come into the state defraud a lot of citizens and leave and there wont be anyone to arrest and prosecute (except perhaps some hapless insurance agents) because all the big wheels will be outside the country.

not surprisingly, the overwhelming majority louisiana state senators thought this was a good idea as well.

get a load of representative carter's house concurrent resolution 75 (hcr75) to declare the week of 01 may - 07 may 2006 "cover the uninsured week in louisiana." one the one hand the legislature screws us over while simultaneously the other hand is introducing "atta boy" legislation. must be nice not to possess a conscience.
