The F.B.I. seized all the Poverty Point Reservoir Records. The F.B.I. showed up asked if the Thompsons has been at the office before carting away all the filing cabinets.
Feds indict former Poverty Point Reservoir director Mike Thompson
A federal grand jury has returned an indictment charging Mike Thompson, former executive director of Poverty Point Reservoir District, with using reservoir money for his own benefit.
The indictment was returned today. An arraignment has been set for 10 a.m. June 29 in U.S. District Court in Monroe.
The indictment charges Thompson, the brother of State Rep. Francis Thompson, with one count of violating the Hobbs Act.
It alleges that between Sept. 26, 1997 and June 20, 2002, Thompson served as executive director of the Poverty Point Reservoir District and during that time period he obtained funds of the district to which he was not entitled.
If convicted he faces up to 20 years in prison, a $250,000 fine or both.
