when is a word a word?

so, we used the word rumourdely in a previous post and when we spell checked it, it wasnt in our spell checker so we googled it to see it we spelt it right or not. google didnt say that we spelt it wrong because as you can see they didnt offer any alternatives. google offers (so far) only 8 returns for rumourdely.

wikipedia didnt have an entry on Rumourdely so we made an entry -- in our original entry we hypothesized that rumourdely was used at first by barristers in the victorian era. a few minutes after making the entry a high up wikipedia muckety muck editor weighed in with this:
Besides being misspelled, this topic generates less than 800 Google hits, which tracks pages with this term alone. One would expect more if this term were from Victorian times. Suggest neologism. Denni talk 02:07, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

so we reedited it to a situation to our way of thinking when a neologism is ordained. if you know about this word and wish to edit the entry yourself by all means go ahead. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rumourdely
