yesterday, 08 may 2010, we went deep into hurricane rita country to cameron parish, louisiana.

hackberry high school put on a louisiana high school rodeo association event.

below is a clip of corbin carpenter. carpenter is the jonesville, louisiana cowboy who was critically injured by a bull stomp nearly two years ago at the national high school finals rodeo in farmington, new mexico.

this year, carpenter is currently sitting at number 1 statewide in cutting -- but hot on his heels is josh burns, a cowboy from buckeye high school here in rapides parish.

june brings the state finals rodeo hosted by the lamar-dixon expo center at gonzales, louisiana.
