martha manuel is the former executive director of the governor’s office of elderly affairs who was fired last week cos she didnt learn how to push pi properly.The Governor moved her department into the State Department of Health and Hospitals without giving her any input.
so ms. manuel did what any red blooded american would do these days -- she started a blog to get her version of events out and went on talk radio.
When legislators asked her under oath in a committee hearing about her opinion of the move, she said it would be detrimental to the elderly.
She was fired by Jindal the next morning for giving honest answers to a legislative committee.
Obviously Jindal wants his administration to sing the exact same tune regardless of personal opinion, the facts or their duty to tell the truth. ~ read more
could be that the only thing that saves us this year is their choosing to open the legislature at the same time that mercury is going retrograde.
so lets hope this means that this will be a totally screwed up session in which nothing is accomplished!

apparently, this happened in early november 2011. we only learned about it yesterday when we followed a sponsored link at the bottom of a gannett/the town talk news story.
They said the giant perfume bottle - shaped like a vase holding a blooming pink flower - was "provoking, but not indecent". [emphasis added]
although the ad was banned in the united kingdom, one way "the media" gets around this is to promote it as a legitimate news story.
we believe that one of the subliminal suggestions that this advertisement seeks to implant into the mind of its viewer, is to associate the essence of this perfume with the scent of this seventeen year old (presumably virgin) girls' vagina.

Other than writing checks to candidates, Gov. Bobby Jindal's involvement in Saturday's legislative races was publicly sedate until former state Sen. James David Cain rankled him.
Cain, a Republican, criticized the governor for backing incumbent state Sen. John Smith in a three-person race that features Cain, Smith and Terry Fowler.
In a television ad, Cain questioned why the Republican governor would support a longtime Democrat. Smith, R-Leesville, only recently joined the Republican Party.
The governor fired back by spending nearly $100,000 of his own campaign funds to launch a television commercial criticizing Cain for using his legislative years toward his teacher's retirement. The ad is airing in the Alexandria and Lake Charles areas.

"We felt it was important to respond to James David Cain's ad. He threw mud at the governor," the governor's campaign aide, Timmy Teepell, said Wednesday.

Cain said he feels dismayed and shocked after welcoming Jindal into his home and helping him on the campaign trail in past governor's races.

this is actually the second robo call that we've received from "campaign eddie." the first one we missed because we didnt have our digital audio recorder hooked up.
"campaign eddie" says that chris hazel's wife was appointed to a powerful state board and that her employer received $15,000,000 in state of louisiana contracts - many of them no-bid awards.
you can tell that this robo call isnt exactly honest and forthright because its not interested in exposing hazel's treasonous, traitorous activities and that he is a rino -- instead choosing to mention some unnamed law in the second part.
"campaign eddie" refers to some law that hazel passed that "limited seniors rights," (what about all of us who's rights hazel has trampled numnuts) that subversive rino and weasel piyush "bobby" jindal had to veto....in spite of all the laws he has signed to take away our rights...
all things considered, we are finding this "campaign eddie" series of robo calls to be better than the usual generic ones we receive and has the potential to be highly effective.====

Among the 22 SEALs killed in the attack are two Shreveport natives, according to The Shreveport Times.
That newspaper reports Chief Petty Officer Robert James Reeves and Lt. Commander Jonas Kelsall were both killed today [saturday, 06 august 2011] when a U.S. Chinook helicopter crashed in Wardak province.
The Shreveport Times reports that Reeves and Kelsall were both graduates of Caddo Magnet High School where they played soccer together, according to John Kelsall, Jonas Kelsall’s father.
Both would join the military after graduation, though Reeves spent a year at LSU first, his father Jim Reeves, said. ~ link

Takes Jindal to task on Doubling of Unemployment; Budget Deficit.

The spot, entitled "Real Leadership" calls out Governor Jindal for a doubling of unemployment on his watch; and the budget reversal from $1 billion surplus to $1.5 billion deficit.

RE: OPEN LETTER TO GOVERNOR JINDAL.
Dear Governor Jindal:
I am writing to express profound disappointment with your handling of both the substance and the tone of this year’s legislative session on the budget.
Governor, you and your representatives have publicly criticized the work of Jim Fannin, the House Appropriations Chairman and the Louisiana House of Representatives, in completely unacceptable terms.
Your administration has blatantly lied to the legislature as part of the process, and you got caught.
As a candidate, you strongly opposed the use of one-time money in the budget, but as Governor, you have submitted a budget with the most one-time money ever.
You have fought the historic efforts of the House of Representatives to put restrictions on use of excess one time money through a 2/3 vote requirement. You lobbied hard against it and you are still fighting the Geymann rule today. Governor, what are you thinking?
After losing the vote on HR27 by a stunning 60-42 margin, you tried to cause a train wreck in the legislative process to prove your point. Your people lied to the legislature about the impact of certain amendments of Chairman Fannin and then basically called him a liar in front of the whole House. After a brief delay and a day of checking around, he turned out to be completely right and the lie of your administration was exposed.
This is not a secret. It is apparent to pretty much every political reporter in the state, and anyone with an Internet connection who can watch the proceedings of the House online.
How dare you, Bobby. Jim Fannin is one of the most respected members of the legislature in either party. He has done a tremendous job as Chairman of Appropriations, and I can only hope he will choose to remain for another four years after the highly inappropriate treatment by your Administration in this legislative session.
You should publicly apologize to Jim Fannin and the House of Representatives now, and so should your entire executive staff.
Governor Jindal, my husband and I supported you in 2007. We are deeply disappointed.
In these difficult economic times, the people of Louisiana deserve more than a part-time Governor who plays political games with the budget process, and shows disrespect for the process.
Respectfully Governor, your entire set of legislative initiatives is in shambles, and your credibility with the legislature is at an all time low.
If you can’t be the Bobby Jindal that ran in 2007, who actually spends his time and energy on our problems here in Louisiana, then perhaps we need someone new to lead our state.

when we logged on about 10 - 15 minutes before the rally began there were already 700+ viewers and shortly before our crash the view counter had shot up to over 3,000 so there were a lot of interested people out here
we're not for any moratorium or putting people out of work or anything like that.
for one reason or another, the government hasnt done a very good job with explaining that the deepwater horizon was drilling from a floating platform in water 5,000 feet [1524 meters] deep drilling down between 25,000 - 30,000 feet [7,620 - 9,144 meters] beyond that and on the edge of human technology.
