senator robert byrd endorses barack obama

apparently, someone woke-up west virginia senator and democratic superdelegate robert byrd long enough, at least, for him to announce that at this summers democratic national convention he would be casting his vote for senator barack obama for president. the hill reports that senator byrd said that senator obama is a "noble-hearted patriot and humble christian," byrd cited his and obama’s shared opposition to the iraq war as one reason for his endorsement. ~ read more
