karl rove hates some bloggers

via rogers cadenhead's drudge retort blog:

Karl Rove ripped into liberal bloggers at a web politics conference this week, assailing the "angry kooks" on the "nutty fringe of political life" who have seized "inexpensive and easily accessible" platforms to upend public debate.
this commenter on drudge retort pretty much sums it up:
"nutty fringe of political life" who have seized "inexpensive and easily accessible" platforms to upend public debate

inexpensive and easily accessible?

Marx once called Religion the "opiate of the masses".

That was only because he never got a chance to see cable teevee.

Fer the longest time the handgun was called "the great equaliser"

That was by people who hadn't seen the internet.

Actually wot the Kruel Rover is soooo pissed off about is the fact that blog-world has upended the status quo too fast fer them to fix.

Used to be that public will was far more easy to shape.

Consent was a pretty much manufactured at will wot with the increasing control of independent newspapers and the rest of the MSM and the Think Tanks focus grouping the new language variants.

Nowadays a million bucks worth of propaganda can be countered by any jackass wif a pc and an ISP provider.

Even a largely imaginary 8 1/2 inch tall talking potato gets his say.

Imagine that.
