“The more corrupt the state, the more numerous the laws.” ~ Gaius Cornelius Tacitus
cbc news excerpt:
A convicted killer captured last week in New Brunswick has no grounds to remain in Canada and will be deported to the United States, an Immigration and Refugee Board official ruled Friday in Montreal.
[...]
Immigration Commissioner Marie-Louise Côté ordered McNair deported based in part on his "serious criminality."Because McNair poses a flight risk, Côté also ordered that he be detained at the maximum-security Atlantic Institution in Renous, until the deportation order is carried out.
McNair, representing himself, appeared at the hearing via video link.
Law-enforcement officials in the U.S. say they're anxious to put McNair back behind bars, and will likely house him at a super-maximum-security prison because of his history of escapes.
Canadian border officials are expected to carry out the deportation in the coming weeks.
