jacques roy to dana pitcher 'no deal'

kudos to mayor roy and the city council for turning down this wasteful and needless expenditure of taxpayer money.

the town talk reported on 30 january 2007 that sometime last year the city paid $15,000 [11,423eur] to dana pitcher productions, inc., for a november 2006 show...but we cant find a listing for "dana pitcher productions, inc"., in the sec'y of state corporations database. there is a dana pitcher enterprises, II though.

The Alexandria City Council met earlier this afternoon.

One of the items up for discussion was whether to pay an ultimate fighting promoter $30,000 [22,854eur] to stage a fight at the Rapides Parish Coliseum. Alexandria mayor Jacques Roy says "no deal". So where does the city draw the line in bringing in big events to the city and putting up the money to do so?
