kalb is having technical difficulties
so, at 9:59 p.m. friday night we switched over to kalb channel 5, to watch the 5th quarter show only to be greeted with the below picture on the screen:

out of curiosity we flipped over to kalb's sister station cbs 2 - this is what was on their channel.for the hell of it, we checked to see if mercury is in retrograde -- its not. we doubted that mercury had anything to do with it, because at kalb's 6:00 p.m. news cast, for about the first 2 minutes they reran the first two minutes of the nbc nightly news which they had just broadcast at 5:30 - the same thing happened on kalb about a month or so ago.
the rachael ray picture stayed on kalb until 10:20 p.m. when the screen went blank. kalb finally came back on the air at 10:58 p.m. when they joined in progress the tonight show with jay leno.
in the meantime, we switched over to klax to see what they had to offer for sports reporting. their broadcast originates out of davenport, iowa -- thats right the news anchors you see arent even in alexandria. they didnt have any footage from any game whatsoever -- all they had was some sports scores:
