shiloh baptist church crumbling away

now here are a couple of snaps that we took today of the historic shiloah baptist church located in downtown alexandria, louisiana.

over the past year or so it has received some blogosphere play like at alex cenla here and more than once on cenlamar.com through here.

as far as we know the church is still vacant and still for sale.

about eighteen months or two years or so ago when it was first repainted we thought whoever picked out the color scheme of that burnt orange or whatever and white did an outstanding job and that the building really stood out, looking both attractive and impressive.

now this historic building is starting to resemble a vampire who's been out in the sun for too long. have we been potempkin villaged?
