central and north louisiana has been blessed since saturday with all the abundant sunshine and mild weather. its really helped to dry out from the many rain soaked days prior.

much of louisiana is still not out of the woods yet. areas near to alexandria, la. are still under a flood warning until late friday night. at 6:00 pm yesterday the red river at alexandria was at 31.5 feet. flood stage is 32 feet.

the forecast expects the red to rise above flood stage by early afternoon today and continue to rise to near 33.0 feet by wednesday evening. then fall below flood stage by friday afternoon. ~ flood warning
