Services:11:00 a.m., Sunday, December 23, 2007 at Hope Baptist Church.

Visitation:Services for Reverend Dr. Donald H. Chelette, Sr. will be held at 11:00 a.m., Sunday, December 23, 2007 at Hope Baptist Church with Dr. Chuck Stevenson and Dr. Bill Knight officiating. Burial will be in Chelette Cemetery, Verda, under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Pineville. Saturday, December 22, 2007 at Hixson Brothers, Pineville from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Sunday at Hope Baptist Church from 9:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Chelette, Derk Chelette, Chris Chelette, Tim Chelette, Dustin Chelette, Ryan Meherg, Mark Poe, Mack McMannus, and Mark Sparks.

Rev. Chelette, 79, of Pineville passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at Rapides Regional Medical Center.

He was founder of Hope Baptist Church and School and was pastor for more than 30 years. Since retiring as pastor he has been actively involved in evangelism and missions work in Mexico.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter Lee and Pearl Vivian Shelton Chelette; brother-in-law, George Asacker.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 57 years, Dorothy Louise LaCroix Chelette; sons, Retired CW5 Ted Chelette and wife, Kathryn, Mike Chelette and wife, Donna, Byron Chelette and wife, Teresa, Donald Chelette, and wife, Cheri; daughter, Wanda Chappell and husband, Mike; nine grandchildren;
brothers, Lee Chelette and wife, Gwen, Brian Chelette and wife, Annette, Morris Chelette and wife, Sharon; sisters, Doris Asacker, Reba McMannus and husband, Gerald, Patsy Hall and husband, David; and many extended family members and friends.

Louise Chelette

Funeral services for Louise Chelette will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 9, 2010, at Hope Baptist Church, Alexandria with Dr. Bill Nichols assisted by Dr. Chuck Stevenson officating. Burial will be immediatly following the service at Chelette Cemetery, Verda under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria.

Visitation for family and friends will be Monday, November 8, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Hixson Brothers, Pineville.

Louise Chelette, 80, of Pineville, passed away November 5, 2010, at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital, Alexandria.

Louise loved to host family and friends with her cooking. In her younger years she loved to garden. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Louise was a member of Hope Baptist Church in Alexandria.

She was preceded in death by her husband Donald H Chelette, Sr.; parents, Dewey and Lillie Roshto LaCroix; brothers, Jules LaCroix and James LaCroix.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Ted Chelette and wife Kathryn of Fayetteville, NC, Michael Chelette and wife Donna of Pineville, Byron Chelette and wife Teresa of Pineville and Donald Chelette, Jr and wife Cheri of Alexandria; daughter, Wanda Chappell and husband Mike of Bossier City; 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Derk Chelette, Tim Chelette, Chris Chelette, Dustin Chelette, Casey Chelette, Ryan Meherg, Anthony LaCroix and Mark Poe.

wst... has learned that dr. don chelette, a long time pastor of hope baptist church, hwy 28 west, alexandria, louisiana, has died.

in 1972, dr. chelette also founded the hope baptist school.
